I’m a lawyer, ethics and compliance professional who advises companies on how to meet their legal and regulatory requirements using creative, design-driven strategies.

I started my firm shortly after completing an Executive LLM where I studied innovation, law and technology in emerging sectors (AI, Crypto,  Fintechs) and developed a passion for legal design which I blend into all areas of my practice (for more about legal design, see my blog or video).

For 16+ years, I worked in the banking and securities industries advising on legal and regulatory issues. I managed global compliance teams, litigation across Canada, and led the strategic direction for an employee ethics education campaign earning a Telly Award which means I am uniquely positioned to provide legal design services to the financial industry, securities firms, banks or credit unions. However, uses can extend to most industries, corporations, Head Office Support groups (Operations, In-House, Compliance, HR), Law Firms or lawyers.

We make the law plain, simple and accessible to users. An organization can reduced risk, penalties, regulatory findings and litigation when employees understand their legal and compliance requirements. We use visual design to develop policies, procedures, fillable forms and other governance documentation, and we produce interesting animated or video-based employee education and training. Understanding is key to risk reduction. We also use visual design tools and videos to strengthen a litigator’s arguments and persuade decision-makers.
